The Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV) test measures the average size of your red blood cells. Determined as part of a normal complete blood count (CBC), the MCV test gives doctors the tools to diagnose and classify the types of anemia that can lead to symptoms involving fatigue, weakness, and dizziness. The test can also provide information about possible nutrition deficiencies, liver problems, or thyroid problems.
