- Blood is drawn from your arm vein, and a small amount of blood is collected.

When to Get Tested
You should have this test if you have a high fever with headache, muscle pain, rash or other symptoms, especially if you are 1 to 7 days from when you initially got sick, as it can help you confirm if you have dengue fever. It is also recommended during suspected or confirmed dengue outbreaks in areas known to have dengue.
